  • Peace Jr. & Sr. High Youth
    • The Peace Lutheran Junior High Youth group consists of those in grades 6 thru 8. Several fun events are planned throughout the year such as bowling, miniature golf, go-carts, shopping & movie, dying Easter Eggs and sponsoring the Pre-School Sunday School Easter Egg Hunt, hay rides and Perry Recreation Center lock-in, just to name a few.
    • The Senior High Youth group is for those in grades 9 thru 12. The events of the year include Murder Mystery Dinners, Good Friday night lock-in, silly suppers, cosmic bowling, paint ball, and many others.
    • Some events that are enjoyed by both of the youth groups. Hidden Valley Ski Ranch is one of the favorites. Peace youth usually participate in the midnight – 5 am ski and it is always well attended. The youth groups also sponsor events to benefit those in the congregation and community. The annual Easter breakfast is set up and decorated by the youth. In November, they decorate the church for Thanksgiving. Youth also sponsor a work day. Members of the congregation can have the youth rake leaves, mow grass, clean gutters, and clean garages, help put up Christmas decorations or any other task with which they need help.
    • In December the youth sponsor an “Angel Tree”. The tree is decorated with angels, each bearing the name of a child who is in need. The members of the congregation can purchase Christmas gifts for the child. The youth group and volunteers then wrap the gifts and deliver them for Christmas.
    • Peace youth are also very involved in the church services. The Junior High youth acolyte during the services; the Senior High youth are ushers. January is Youth Month. The Youth from both age groups do the acolyting, ushering, scripture reading, and sometimes the assisting minister duties. The last weekend in January the youth will also provide a program in place of the pastor's sermon. Some years it will be a play, other years a hymn sing-a-long, or maybe a slide show. The High School youth are an active part of the Sunday School program and all youth group members are encouraged to help with Vacation Bible School.
    • PLC takes great pride in our youth and in our youth group program. Involved youth will become involved adults!
I Timothy 4:12 “Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
