- The Altar Guild is entrusted with the privilege of preparing the worship space for Sunday worship and all special services. This consists of keeping the chancel, altar, baptismal font and pulpit clean. Linens, paraments, and vestments are kept clean and in readiness for worship. The overall goal of the Altar Guild is to see that the worship space is kept beautiful and in good order to provide a setting that helps enable the congregation to worship in a meaningful way.
- The Altar Guild prepares the church for special seasons such as Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter.
- On confirmation Sunday, the Altar Guild presents each member of the class with a plaque depicting their name, date, and Bible verse.
- This organization is open to all men and women of the congregation. Please come and share your time and talent with us. This is a most fulfilling way to serve the Lord and his church.
- Women of the ELCA (WELCA)
- WELCA is a multi-functional group of women who meet bi-monthly on the third Tuesday at 7:30 pm for fellowship, study, fun, and food. We welcome women of all ages at our meetings and appreciate the support of all Peace members for our projects. Regular offerings are received at each meeting and thank offerings quarterly.
- Projects range from making quilts and preparing school kits, health kits, sewing kits, etc. for Lutheran World Relief to sponsoring a booth at the Steeleville Oktoberfest to raise funds for local church needs. Some of the local church needs are the Wednesday All-Stars (a midweek after school program for grades 4 through 6) and Peace food pantry. Monetary donations are also given to LSSI, DCFS, Western Egyptian Outreach, Hospitality House, Triennial Convention, The Murray Home in Centralia, etc. In addition soup labels are collected for the Bethpage Mission. Other activities include a Senior Luncheon that is served on Maundy Thursday and serving meals at funerals for families of loved ones.
- Provide 2 hours of respite care per week for caregivers of people in the church and in the community.
- Provide Eucharistic ministry to the homebound and shut-in members of the congregation on alternate months.
- We have 11 volunteers with Bernie Bockhorn, Coordinator.
